Royalty – 3D Model Cart

Royalty – 3D Model Cart is a 3D model designed and created by Lola.
The model displays her chosen theme for a roller coaster ride. She drew inspiration from historical and modern crowns to make the theme of royalty prominent to the audience.

During this project, Lola took inspiration from various sources regarding colour, pattern, texture and design. She researched the meanings behind certain jewels that are on royal crowns and along with historical symbols to which she incorporated into her design. Ensuring the standard rules of a royal crown design were executed was prevalent to the final piece.

In Maya, various tools and techniques were used to construct her model. Such as removing faces of a polygon to get her desired shape and then bridging it together again. Using bump maps to give the illusion of depth and detail, Lola was able to make the faux ermine border authentic and resemble that of a real crown. To get the best quality, she rendered the still images of the model using the Arnold Render plug-in. Finally, a logo for the roller coaster was one of the many fine details that completed her model design.

Lola achieved the requirements of the project brief by using a polygonal geometry along with multiple shapes to create a royal themed 3D model of a roller coaster cart
